THE TEAM

Raised in Santa Barbara, Brooks graduated from UCLA where she studied sociology and communications. While there, she worked for Sports Illustrated handling sales and marketing programs as well as market research for prominent advertisers. Upon graduation, Brooks worked at UBS Financial Services where she managed client relations and marketing programs for a high net worth wealth management team. After finishing her Certified Financial Planning degree at UCSB, she realized she wished to follow her passion for wine. In 2010, she joined Margerum Wine Company and over the years has held the roles of National Sales Manager, General Manager and now National Accounts and Private Label Manager. 

After many years building up brands and sourcing wine for others, she is using her wealth of knowledge to bring unique, affordable and high quality wines to Guadalupe.  Brooks and her husband farm in Arroyo Grande and grow flowers and avocados while also raising three young daughters.  She has a passion for cooking and entertaining and looks forward to hosting everyone at her second home, Guadalupe Social Club.

BROOKS VAN WINGERDEN

Lexie was born and raised on the Central Coast and has always felt connected to the area.  After moving to Southern California and living there for 18 years, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. She worked for several notable brands including Rock and Republic, Chrome Hearts, Alice and Olivia, Denimocracy and Parker Smith denim. After she met her husband, Alex, they decided to return to the Central Coast to start their family.  While juggling three children under the age of six, she started her own professional makeup business where she does everything from high-profile weddings to family photo sessions.  When Brooks moved in next door to her, they instantly hit it off and realized their mutual love of entertaining, cooking and good wine.  

As Guadalupe Social Club took shape, Lexie has used her knack for design to oversee every detail in the renovation of this historic building.  By leveraging her small town connections and vast experience witnessing hundreds of weddings over the years, she has created a space that pays tribute to the historic elements but also elevates the space into a unique destination.
